God Uses Trials for Repentance

| March 28, 2013

God allows trials for repentance.
Return to the Lord.
Does God punish?
God’s personality doesn’t change. Learn of God.
God’s desire to save you.
If we obey God/God’s promises for repentance. God’s timing is perfect.
God will heal your backsliding. God will accept you.
God promises rest.

Hosea 5:1 Hear ye this, O priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel;
and give ye ear, O house of the king; for judgment [is] toward you,
because ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.

Hosea 5:2 And the revolters are profound to make slaughter, though I
[have been] a rebuker of them all.

Hosea 5:3 I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for now, O
Ephraim, thou committest whoredom, [and] Israel is defiled.

Hosea 5:4 They will not frame their doings to turn unto their God:
for the spirit of whoredoms [is] in the midst of them, and they have not
known the LORD.

Hosea 5:5 And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: therefore
shall Israel and Ephraim fall in their iniquity; Judah also shall fall
with them.

Hosea 5:6 They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to
seek the LORD; but they shall not find [him]; he hath withdrawn himself
from them.

Hosea 5:7 They have dealt treacherously against the LORD: for they
have begotten strange children: now shall a month devour them with their
portions.

Hosea 5:8 Blow ye the cornet in Gibeah, [and] the trumpet in Ramah:
cry aloud [at] Bethaven, after thee, O Benjamin.

Hosea 5:9 Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke: among the
tribes of Israel have I made known that which shall surely be.

Hosea 5:10 The princes of Judah were like them that remove the bound:
[therefore] I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.

Hosea 5:11 Ephraim [is] oppressed [and] broken in judgment, because
he willingly walked after the commandment.

Hosea 5:12 Therefore [will] I [be] unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the
house of Judah as rottenness.

Hosea 5:13 When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah [saw] his wound,
then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet could he
not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.

Hosea 5:14 For I [will be] unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young
lion to the house of Judah: I, [even] I, will tear and go away; I will
take away, and none shall rescue [him].

Hosea 5:15 I will go [and] return to my place, till they acknowledge
their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me
early.

Hosea 6:1 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn,
and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.

Hosea 6:2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will
raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

Hosea 6:3 Then shall we know, [if] we follow on to know the LORD: his
going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the
rain, as the latter [and] former rain unto the earth.

Hosea 6:4 O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I
do unto thee? for your goodness [is] as a morning cloud, and as the
early dew it goeth away.

Hosea 6:5 Therefore have I hewed [them] by the prophets; I have slain
them by the words of my mouth: and thy judgments [are as] the light
[that] goeth forth.

Hosea 6:6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge
of God more than burnt offerings.

Hosea 6:7 But they like men have transgressed the covenant: there
have they dealt treacherously against me.

Hosea 6:8 Gilead [is] a city of them that work iniquity, [and is]
polluted with blood.

Hosea 6:9 And as troops of robbers wait for a man, [so] the company
of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness.

Hosea 6:10 I have seen an horrible thing in the house of Israel:
there [is] the whoredom of Ephraim, Israel is defiled.

Hosea 6:11 Also, O Judah, he hath set an harvest for thee, when I
returned the captivity of my people.

Hebrews 12:5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh
unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of
the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth
every son whom he receiveth.

Hebrews 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with
sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

Hebrews 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are
partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Hebrews 12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which
corrected [us], and we gave [them] reverence: shall we not much rather
be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

Hebrews 12:10 For they verily for a few days chastened [us] after
their own pleasure; but he for [our] profit, that [we] might be
partakers of his holiness.

Hebrews 12:11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous,
but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of
righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

Hebrews 12:12 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the
feeble knees;

Hebrews 12:13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which
is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all [men], and holiness, without
which no man shall see the Lord:

Hebrews 12:15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of
God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble [you], and thereby
many be defiled;

Hebrews 12:16 Lest there [be] any fornicator, or profane person, as
Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

Hebrews 12:17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have
inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of
repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

About the Author ()

I am a radio minister in Evansville, Indiana with a passion for the preserved Word of God as found in the King James Bible. The words of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and His disciples are what all Christians are to obey and follow, not man's traditions, superstitions or doctrines of ungodly men. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." You have a choice to make, to believe HIs Word or to reject it, it's up to you. My purpose is to help you see the truth and connect with the Living God, your Heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
